Upstairs Downstairs was born in San Francisco in the spring of 2008. With a considered mix of thoughtful lyrics, folk-tinged melodies and a bit of feedback, the results fall somewhere on the spectrum between indie folk rock and shoegaze with a stop somewhere along the way for pop. Originally Tory Ford’s singer/songwriter project, the band has grown to include guitar, bass, keyboards and drums.

“Shoegaze influence indie/folk-rock from San Francisco is not an original idea by any means, but when you start blending in vintage country music with sweeping organ lines… now we have got something special brewing on the west coast.” –last.fm discover

Writer, musician (The Blank Stares, Mensclub, Mink Lungs, Field Trip), and well-loved dude about town, Tom Galbraith offers his spoken word and poetry with a shout, a smile, and much sympathy for a world in need of both a good laugh and a good cry.

Paige and The Thousand is the recent venture of Lindsay Garfield from the band Or, the Whale. Lindsay’s beautiful vocals are augmented by her collaborations with diverse musicians to bring her unique songwriting to life.
